Malcolm James McCormick, born January 19, 1992, is a beloved music artist with the stage name Mac Miller. Mac Miller is a rapper who made a breakthrough for his career with his album K.I.D.S. in 2010 after signing with Rostrum Records. Mac Miller had a successful career for years, gaining billions of streams on multiple platforms. He even starred in a couple movies, like Scary Movie 5, and had a reality TV show on MTV, Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family. After years of upholding his fame, Mac Miller passed away on September 7th, 2018, after an accidental drug overdose. To this day, fans still celebrate his life and love his music. 

Mac Miller released three more albums before his contract with Rostrum Records expired, being Blue Side Park, Macadelic, and Watching Movies with the Sound Off. He then independently released his album Faces after his contract expired, and then later signed with Warner Bros. Records, releasing his albums GO:OD AM, The Divine Feminine, and Swimming. Swimming was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. 

Mac Miller was in a relationship with Ariana Grande from 2016 to 2018, with it being confirmed they were engaged, however the relationship was called off. After Mac Miller’s death, Ariana Grande wrote her song Thank You, Next, which mentioned her late ex-fiancé. Mac was open about his depression and substance abuse, and in his documentary MAC, he mentioned how he “hated” being sober. He then later said he was sober for three months in October 2016, yet passed away almost two years later in September 2018. Mac was found by his assistant after he passed, and was buried at Homewood Cemetery in his hometown Pittsburgh, where a funeral was held. At Blue Slide Park, fans held a vigil for the beloved rapper in celebration and remembrance of his life.
