Is Harry’s House Worth the Listen?

By Julie Jaworski

Harry Styles is a well known artist, primarily from the band he was previously in, One Direction. Once the band had split, each artist pursued solo careers. For some, this was an extreme success, but for others not so much. Harry was one of the boys to benefit from a solo career, releasing his debut self titled album, Harry Styles. With the success from his debut album, Harry wrote his next, titled Fine Line. Finally, and the most recent, he wrote and released Harry’s House.

There are thirteen songs on this album, beginning with Music for a Sushi Restaurant. This song is a very different vibe from his normal music, which is what makes it likable. It’s upbeat, a concert song. The fourth song on the album is As It Was, which was actually released earlier than the album was. It was considered a teaser to the album, and with the success that this song brought, it was clear the album would have similar success.

Track six on the album, Little Freak, would be a personal favorite. It is the perfect amount of instrumentals with deep meaning behind his lyrics. Besides As It Was (being released earlier), this song had the most success on the album.

Harry’s House comes to an end with two very popular songs, Boyfriends and Love of My Life. These two songs grew their popularity due to the early exposure to them. Harry had performed Boyfriends and Coachella earlier in the year, and being the first song he had released in two years, the fans loved it. Love of My Life had an instrumental bit that was in the album’s trailer, which of course the fans crazed over since he doesn’t often release new music.

The successful release of Harry’s House was long anticipated by his fans and himself.
