Electric Cars vs Gas Cars

By Reese Mattner

There have been studies that contain information about how drivers misuse their vehicle. Certain kinds of self-driving cars are supposed to be used on highways only. Some owners use their self-driving car in parking lots or during bad weather conditions. All self-driving vehicles have different assisted driving options. Some cars are not meant to drive on all roads. It is common for many drivers to take part in other distracting activities behind the wheel. Self driving cars are being used wrong by owners.

Gas prices will continue to increase within the U.S. this October. California currently has the highest gas prices coming in at $6.335 per gallon. The lowest price of gas is $3.226 per gallon in Georgia. Russia produces 10% of the oil in the world. Since Russia is at war with Ukraine the U.S. has banned imports of oil through Russia. It is harder to get oil and there is a lower amount that we’re getting. Therefore the citizens of the U.S. have to pay more for gas.

Electric and gas cars both have advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion gas is short term and electric is long term. Cars that use gas tend to be cheaper than buying an electric car. There are certain things you have to pay for when you own a gas car. Including oil changes, transmission fluid, etc. In the long term electric cars are cheaper. Electric cars don’t require oil changes and other maintenance. You can easily fill up your gas tank while electric cars take a long time to charge. On road trips it is easy to fill up your gas along the way. Electric cars can be charged at home. The battery of an electric car won’t last as long as a tank with gas will. There are many pros and cons for owning each car. Overall electric cars and gas cars are very different.
